Introduction
To achieve universal health coverage, it is essential for governments to ensure all individuals have access to necessary services and care without facing financial difficulties. However, with the rising costs of new health technologies and medicines, striking a balance between treatment effectiveness and cost control has become a crucial challenge for governments.
To address this challenge, Health Technology Assessment (HTA) has been conducted to assist governments in making informed decisions and determining reimbursement processes for new medicines, innovative healthcare services, and policies as well as enhancing the overall efficiency and sustainability of healthcare systems. In addition, as infectious disease threats continue, policymakers are required to re-prioritize the efforts regularly; conducting HTA also supports the government in making timely decisions. The workshop will be held in 2024 in Taipei on September 3 and will include activities such as (1) interactive sessions for stakeholders from different economies to share their experiences. (2) Poster.
